EYE HOSPITAL, Jaggampeta CANCER HOSPITAL, Visakhapatnam
This is the proposed model of Lions district 324C1 eye care and research center, Lions Eye Hospital which is under construction at Jaggampeta. The people from near by villages of Jaggampeta have been receiving the services from the eye hospital even in the past, has created a kind of respect on our Lionisiem. Sri Koduri Ranga Rao garu is kind enough to register 55 cents of Land to the long awaited hospital. To support this great effort Sri Koduri Ranga Rao Garu has donated 10 lakhs ( $25,000 ) and Lions Grandhi Venkateswara Rao donated 10 Lakhs ( $25,000 ).

The past district governor Lion PV Rama Rao, Ln Dr V Umma Mahaswara Rao, Ln DGK Raju, Ln Goli Sri Ramlu, Ln Dr Badam Balakrishna rendered their support and encouragement in managing and construction of the hospital.

The members of the Board of Trustee have decided to inscribe the names of the key people driving this project on a marble plaque like Lion Gandhi Venkateswara Rao, Lion Smt Laxmi Vasantha, Lion Koduri Ranga Rao, Lion Subha Laxmi.

The foundation stone for the hospital was laid by Lion B Sita Kumari Past Dist Governor and Lion Dr Badam Balakrishna chairman in the year 2006-07. The construction work was done by main contractor / engineer Sri Nalam Bhaskar Rao.

The plan is to make a two storied hospital at an estimation of 43 Lakhs ( $112,000). To make this plan a reality Smt Boorugupalli Ramayama relative of Sri Koduri Ranga Rao has donated 1 Lakh ($2500)

As such Lions Club is organizing many program on eye care, eye operations and receiving appreciation from all section of society. This hospital will cater to 140 villages including the tribal population of the area.

It is requested every one should lay a helping hand and donate liberally. The donors will be recognized by Lions Club as
  • Donation more than 1 lakh ($2500): Name of the donor will be inscribed on one room and also one free eye operation to a poor person recommended by the donor.
  • Donation of Rs 50 thousand ($1250 ) names of two donors on one will be inscribed on one room.
  • Or any big amount as per individuals wish for construction and equipments.
The donations may be sent in the form of chque or draft favoring Lions District 324C1 Eye Care & Research Center, Z, Ragampet ( Jaggampeta ) Andhra Bank.

We humbly request you to take part and lender support in completing this mega project and making it a grand success.

   In order to control Cancer disease in all aspects the Lions of District 324 C1 has established a separate Trust in 1984 to take up the construction of “Lions District 324 C1 Cancer Treatment and Research Centre” at Visakhapatnam with an Objective to make the treatment accessible to all at an affordable cost or even at no cost .

Lions Cancer Hospital a prestigious hospital of our Distrsict 324 C1 is a unique venture first of its kind built & run by Lions District 324 C1, Lions Clubs International - the largest voluntary service organization in the world.

The mission of Lions Cancer Hospital is to provide compassionate and comprehensive treatment to the Cancer Patient.

LIONS CANCER HOSPITAL plans to attack the problem of Cancer on Several fronts, using a multi-pronged strategy, with the help of various Lions Clubs and other service organizations.

  • 1/3 of Cancers are PREVENTABLE by changing our life-styles
  • 1/3 of Cancers are CURABLE when detected early
  • 1/3 of Cancers are amenable to PALLIATION & PAIN RELIEF
LIONS CANCER HOSPITAL is the only hospital in the region providing all the three modalities of treatment for cancer patients under one roof. They are 

Surgical Oncology
Radiation Oncology and
Chemotherapy


The Departments of Surgical Oncology, Radiation Oncology & Chemotherapy are working under the supervision of experienced competent Oncologists. The Nursing and supporting medical staff are qualified and well trained with leadership skills along with special nursing care.

Lions Cancer Hospital is providing cancer specialty services in its owned six floor building which has the entire infrastructure facilities like lift, back up Generator, Air-Conditioning units etc, and also two ambulances.

Lions Cancer Hospital built-up area is 24,000 sq. feet in 1168 sq. yards of VUDA allotted site at Seethammadhara, Visakhapatnam. The hospital has 100 beds. Two Beds are meant for Intensive Care (ICU). There is a separate ward exclusively for Chemotherapy treatment. There are single rooms, twin sharing rooms and separate General Wards for Men & Women. The rooms are spacious, bright with natural daylight and an efficient ventilation system. The hospital has wide corridors and resting places on each floor that permit convalescing patients to sit and relax. A large OPD area provide a compact reception, patient waiting hall and six consulting chambers.

Recently VUDA has allotted another 283 Sq. yards adjacent to the present site for the purpose of providing shelter to the poor and needy cancer patients.

Lions Cancer Hospital treated 12900 patients from April 1996 to September, 2007.
